Peppa Pig Visits Marsh Farm

Do You and Your Family Love Peppa Pig and Farms?

On one cold and frosty morning, as we read Peppa Pig to the girls tucked up in bed, we surprised them by saying, ‘shall we go and see Peppa Pig today?’ Their little faces said it all!

Peppa Pig was to be making a guest appearance at a farm local to us in Essex. Marsh Farm is an animal adventure park in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex. It gives children opportunities to not only meet some of their favourite characters at their special event days, but to meet the animals, feed the birds in a walk through aviary, cuddle the pets and groom a pony. It also boasts extensive indoor and outdoor play areas, jump on our huge bouncy pillows and fabulous shows.

We went as a family of 4. The Popitha Twins are now 2.5 years old. What I loved about Marsh Farm is that it is totally geared up for children and toddlers. Small toddlers can see the animals from the ground, everyone can interact with them at certain times and their are superb outdoor play areas for all ages. Even the adults will enjoy a round of crazy golf! The Peppa Pig event itself was well organised and there were lots of opportunities throughout the day to meet her so that no one meet got too busy – we went to two!

Meeting Peppa Pig – The highlight of the girls lives!

We had, had our eye on this event for a while as the girls are massive Peppa fans but I also knew that they are not the biggest fans of characters dressed up and should we risk it? Well I think this photo gives you the answer.

Peppa had so many excited little fans waiting for her. Marsh farm had set the event up in a very safe and sensible way and had a fenced ring for everyone to stand round so that she could meet everyone. I feel that it is really important to stress that Peppa was excellent with each and every family waiting. She really took her time with all the little ones and Peppa’s guide took photos of Peppa with everyone.  This was a really special touch as usually characters wiz round without the little ones really getting a look in.

Meeting the Animals

Once the excitement of Peppa was over, off we went to meet the animals. The girls adore animals so they enjoyed all of the animal areas which were available. The animals were spread out around the farm and the girls enjoyed visiting the different areas. Here is an idea of who you can meet at Marsh Farm.

Sheep, Pigs, Cows, Ponies, Goats, Shetlands Ponies, Llamas, Alpacas, Goats, Kune Kune Pigs, Rabbits, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs, Gerbils, Rats, Poultry and Birds.

Things To Do

Apart from the animals, there is plenty more to do down on the farm.

Food and Drink

There are two great places to sit and eat hot food, the Play Barn Restaurant where families can enjoy a sit-down meal whilst the little ones play on the enormous soft-play apparatus. It was great that the girls had a special under 5’s area to play in even if they did insist on dragging daddy on all the larger slides!  There is also Tillie’s Tearoom which serves hot and cold food, a snack shack and an ice cream hut on the farm. All are dotted about the farm for your convenience.

Events

As well as the Peppa Pig event, Marsh Farm has a variety of other events coming up. For example, Fairies and Elves in February, Easter events, Halloween, and Their Father Christmas Experience to name a few. For all their other events, click here to see the calendar.
